Welcome to the charming Danish Cottage just 8 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. Experience true Danish hygge* as you step into this 100-year-old, freshly-remodeled, fully-furnished, 4 bedroom, executive rental. The cozy Scandinavian-inspired home is set in nearly 3 acres. Relax inside or enjoy the outdoors as you sit around the firepit or relax in the wooded garden. The home is available for monthly rentals of one month or longer.
Each bedroom is decorated with its own unique color theme and equipped with fresh linens and artistic, homemade cushions. The two newly remodeled bathrooms and half-bathroom have fluffy towels, and basic toiletries are provided. The newly remodeled kitchen is equipped with the things you need to prepare meals that can be served in the adjacent dining room. Our friends from around the world have contributed original art to the gallery wall. Spend time in the evenings in front of the fire in the living room, or relax in the media room upstairs that opens onto a deck with views of the garden.
*Hygge is a Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment. The word hygge comes from a Danish word meaning "to give courage, comfort, joy". Hygge stems from hyggja which means "to think" in Old Norse. Hygge is built from the Old Norse word hugr which later became the hug which means the soul, mind, consciousness.
SPECIAL TOUCHES
The owner, Lyn Johnson, loves creating what she calls "Prepared Places." She has carefully designed the Danish Cottage to be comfortable and welcoming. You will be surrounded by original artwork in most rooms as well as interesting objects that Lyn has bought at local antique shops and collected on her travels to countries near and far.
Property and Community
The Danish Cottage is in the City of Red Bank, a bedroom community an exit or two off the freeway from Chattanooga. The home is on a quiet, wooded street just a couple of minutes from Dayton Boulevard that leads directly to downtown Chattanooga. There is plenty of parking on the property. The nearly 3-acre parcel has areas of wooded slopes and flat areas for recreation. A fire pit surrounded by comfortable Adirondack chairs is located at the rear, away from the street. You can also experience Southern living while sitting on the front porch sipping an iced tea.

- Upstairs bedroom with two full-size beds (suitable for 2 adults, or two children per bed)
- Upstairs media room with deck overlooking the back garden. A twin bed can be added, on request
